Turning Waste into Wealth with Purple Bacteria
POST-PURPLE is transforming waste into opportunity. Our Horizon Europe project uses purple phototrophic bacteria to convert wastewater and biowaste into valuable resources while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The project takes an integrated approach that tackles wastewater, organic waste and emissions together. By recovering nutrients and producing high value bioproducts such as carotenoids, omega 3 fatty acids and coenzyme Q10, we support the transition towards a circular economy.

With nearly €4 million in funding, POST-PURPLE brings together partners across Europe to develop innovative solutions that can turn urban waste streams into sustainable resources.
